Our latest Sounds of the Month playlist and accompanied article to keep you up to date with new releases by our favourite artists. Below is just a sneak peek, you can listen to the full playlist here.
Shygirl – SIREN (Basement Jaxx Joyride Remix)
This Shygirl and Basement Jaxx link up speaks to my soul. Basement Jaxx have returned from their hiatus to treat us with some more classics and this one has me missing the clurbb. This is easily one of my favourite songs of the year.
LSDXOXO – Sick Bitch
I have been screaming, “I’m a sick bitch and I love freak sex” since this song’s release at the beginning of April. LSDXOXO is a Philly-born, Berlin-based babe with a whole discography guaranteed to make you whine your waist.
Outselect & Oddkut – Inside
Oddkut is a Moscow-based producer and Subtle Radio resident. I became a fan of Oddkut’s when I heard their edit of Killa P’s, Rate Us. If you haven’t heard it or heard of Oddkut, get to know because he is serious. Oddkut links up with Outselect to give us a bass heavy, rave tune.
Coco Bryce – Bait Hoven
My first jungle April release on the playlist comes from the modern era’s Doctor of Hardcore, Coco Bryce. The pun in the name makes me love this song even more.
Royal-T – Unbelievable
Hailing from Southampton, Royal-T has graced us with this beauty of a song, jheeez. The synths patterned with the drums and vocals make me feel like I’m at a euphoric rave. Incredible! I just wish it was longer.
Nia Archives – Headz Gone West
London-based Nia Archives is one to watch! Big jungle drums blended with indie and R&B vibes and lyrics that spoke to me. Let me know if that’s a good thing or not! Her soulful vocals elevate the track even higher.
Brockhampton – Buzzcut feat. Danny Brown
American hip-hop collective, Brockhampton, was formed in San Marcos, Texas and they’ve linked up with Detroit-born Danny Brown to create Buzzcut. Brockhampton’s releases always bring me a sense of nostalgia. I feel like they should have been around during my teenage years.
Commodo – Guah
Major sheller Commodo is treating us again. This 140 track brings levels and is one of two tracks in Commodo’s latest release alongside Scabz.
Denham Audio & L Major – Down On Me
This Sheffield trio’s whole album bangs and is honestly, iconic. If I could put every song on this album on my sounds, I would. But alas, I cannot, so this is my favourite.
