Our latest Sounds of the Month playlist and accompanied article to keep you up to date with new releases by our favourite artists. Below is just a sneak peek, you can listen to the full playlist here.

Excited to be sharing some lovely sounds coming from March with Twentyhood this month! Combining tracks I listen to at home through to heavy bits that I have been or will be playing in upcoming mixes, showcasing some of my favourite artists and sounds right now. I hope you like them!

ERIKA DE CASIER – DRAMA

Copenhagen-based singer-songwriter Erika De Casier can do no wrong. Her latest release Drama is dreamy and nostalgic, perfect to listen to when you’re chilling at home (in this never-ending lockdown). If you haven’t already, check out her album, Essentials, and boiler room from last summer, you won’t look back!

JOSSY MITSU – PLANET J (EP)

I know this was released late February but I had to mention Jossy Mitsu’s debut EP, Planet J. This 4 track EP is insane bass heavy techno, I can’t stop playing it. Representing Birmingham, Jossy’s monthly Rinse FM show is not one to miss. Also with some amazing artwork by the talented Kerrie IRL. Top track: Turismo.

WALTON – REWIND RIDDIM

Heavy! Covid, go away so I can hear this on a soundsystem ASAP. With releases out on some of the best, including Ilian Tape, Tectonic and Hyperdub, Walton has a sound that compares to none. If you like it heavy then this new EP, Unknown Territories, is for you.

SIM – BIG MAC

Recently signed to Nervous Horizons (one of my fav labels who put on the best London warehouse parties), SIM’s first release gives me bassy gqom dancehall energy, meshing dancehall sounds with the upfront club sounds Nervous Horizons has been representing, with previous releases from TSVI, DJ Plead and more.

J WAX – THE WAY

J Wax is without a doubt one of my favourite upcoming producers and one to watch! I had to include his recent release as I haven’t stopped playing his music in 2021, especially his Blink EP released on Kouncil Kuts. This release combines his banging electro sounds with a soft vocal. Based in Scotland, J Wax is not only making the best bass driven electro but also co-runs Edinburgh collective, Palidrone.

CADENCE WEAPON FT. JACQUES GREENE – SENNA

Jacques Greene back again with some lovely production on this track with rapper Cadence Weapon, named after the famous race car driver “Senna”. I have been a fan of Canadian, Jacques Greene, since before I can even remember, his productions never disappoint. Check his recent live show in Montreal – the set up is insane!

INTERPLANETARY CRIMINAL – IN MY ARMS (COCO BRYCE REMIX)

Coming from the Netherlands, Coco Bryce brings an emotive take on jungle and breaks, fast and heavy. If you like, I would strongly recommend you check out Luv Aint EZ

STONES TARO – CLOCKWORK DUB

An artist I have only recently discovered coming with a nice mixture of breaks, garage and dub. This track is !!! Think Outlook beach stage, dubby and perfect for sun.
